Girls Rock SB!

Girls Rock SB! is having a benefit on February 23, 2013 at the Marjorie Luke Theater!  The goal of Requisition: A Night of Music and Dance is to raise money for our summer and after-school all-girls music program.  We have an amazing night of music and dance planned with an incredible headlining band from Los Angeles, Meg Myers, and local musicians including Jennifer Terran, Khasy Modisette of The Kinds, Technical Difficulties, and many more.  Also expect performances by local dance companies, such as SB Centre For Aerial Arts.  The night will also include a silent auction and raffle. We hope you will come out and support a great cause and help represent the young women in our community.  Tickets can be found online at:

This event is supported in part by The Marjorie Luke Theatre’s Dreier Family Rent Subsidy Fund.

Who is Girls Rock SB?

We are a non-profit organization that empowers girls through music, promoting an environment that fosters self-confidence, creativity and teamwork. GRSB challenges gender stereotypes, encourage collaboration and tolerance among peers, and provides a comfortable space for people of all backgrounds to express themselves. Through music lessons, workshops, group activities and performance, girls acquire skills that help guide them throughout their lives.

How can you help?

In addition to attending the event, please share this information with your school’s music program and students.  We would love to have your class or program be a part of our audience, and student ticket prices are only $10 with a student ID.  Consider offering extra credit in music programs or classes for attending this event.  We are also open to classroom visits or assemblies to inform your students about our program and concert.  Additionally, if you would like to get involved, we are in need of volunteers to help sell tickets before the event.  Please contact Jen Baron at 805-861-8128 or pnnylane@hotmail.com if you are interested in any of these opportunities.
