Deadline extension for FEMST 190 Activisms course, new date June 14

Event Date:

June 14, 2013 - 11:45pm

Hello!  We are extending the deadline for Feminist Studies 190 to Friday, June 14.  Please use this extra time to apply! See flyer and information.

We have limited electives in fall and this is one of your options.  I do expect to be adding a couple of more classes on GOLD, but don't miss your chance for this exciting opportunity.  The course is open to student of all years, all majors, and will count towards both Feminist Studies and LGBTQ Studies.
Course description:

In this course, students will draw from feminist and queer theories to develop a significant and meaningful campus or community-based internship or activist project. Many internship and volunteer programs and student groups depend upon the unpaid labor of activists, yet often do not encourage participants to think critically about the strategies activists utilize, the discourses we invoke, or the work we do. This class will provide a space for students to develop and implement both feminist analytical tools and activist skills through creating an activist project and/or working with a campus or community-based organization.
